Player Plots

Player Plots

Player plots are plots that have a large enough reach to require some sort of sign up, or would be difficult for those not directly involved to ignore, or need some sort of NPC/mod involvement.

Examples of player plots include:

  • Actions that would negatively affect 4-or-more PCs.
  • Death of a PC.
  • Death of a named NPC.
  • Death of more than 1 unnamed NPC at the same time.
  • Significant property damage.
  • A PC gaining powers as a result of aligning with a patron Entity.
  • Anything that could potentially expose the supernatural to the wider world.
  • Please submit player plots at least a week or two in advance of when you'd like to run it. In the event something happens suddenly that would escalate to a player plot, please let us know as soon as possible.

    Player Name(s): Fox
Character(s) Involved: Tim Drake and hopefully other nerds
    Dates: UHhh

Plot Type: I'm crossing my fingers and hope to sway others in here
Plot Summary: World Domination Via TikTok was not good and Timmy has learned his lesson: recruit other workaholic techies before unleashing stupid ideas onto the innocent people (and getting sucked into murder by the Eye).

    Today's stupid idea:
    https://youtu.be/IRELLH86Edo

It's well known that magic distorts how this world's technology picks up its presence. Videos glitch, photography blurs, recordings warp. Static. Tim used this behavior to drum up excitement over the reality of supernatural happenings before. His new angle would be to use this disruption of video/voice recordings to pinpoint potential magic usage and track it in real-time so ADI can hunt down dangers before the dangers come to them. ........but still using the "advantage" of the everyday native person.

    They're there. Use them.

With a new understanding of how many nerds inhabit ADI personnel, Tim would like to get a team together to go full "Dark Knight spies on you and your loved ones". Accessing cell phones, home security cameras, (ADI phones, ADI security cameras? there sure are a lot of them) and the like and pulling the time and location of any "triggers" aka magical distortions.

One of Tim's goals is to keep the urge of invoking the Eye's powers down. The major goal is to help.... without imminent collateral. A minor? goal is to maybe get the ""echolocation"" running well enough to infiltrate ADI spaces themselves.

Questions: I'm running on the power of Nyquil, my friends. Assuming combined efforts of the technologically-inclined residents, Is this possible? What clearances are needed by ADI to even attempt to stalk magic through the possessions (phones, cams) of normal persons? I'm sure I have more but I had to get this written down before I knock out again, thanks for reading!

    Ahaha beautiful...!

Bonus, there's now PC-owned property outside of ADI's protection and that free standing house will serve as Tim's test drive. Hope Neal and Malcolm enjoy their gifted home security system. (With player permission.)

In order to keep himself removed enough from the broadening project so as to not become wholly obsessive, Tim will be putting up a call for help on the network shortly.

As the Echolocation shapes up, Neil will be contacted prior to the launch into the native population. With this blessing and with Questionable Decisions of the geek squad, the spyware may begin to bleed into ADI itself. Because those absurd cameras pointed at everyone inside the buildings is just something begging to be exploited. Big thinking, but baby steps first....! Need a team.

So yes, it sounds fantastic. February/ March can be to recruit the team and polish up the codes, late nights fueled by doritos and mt dew. Neil will be contacted for help with this, of course. Full development and deployment for April. Who needs ethics when there's lives at stake. And whatever you have cooking up for May!

    What could possibly go wrong.
