Player Plots

Player Plots

Player plots are plots that have a large enough reach to require some sort of sign up, or would be difficult for those not directly involved to ignore, or need some sort of NPC/mod involvement.

Examples of player plots include:

  • Actions that would negatively affect 4-or-more PCs.
  • Death of a PC.
  • Death of a named NPC.
  • Death of more than 1 unnamed NPC at the same time.
  • Significant property damage.
  • A PC gaining powers as a result of aligning with a patron Entity.
  • Anything that could potentially expose the supernatural to the wider world.
  • Please submit player plots at least a week or two in advance of when you'd like to run it. In the event something happens suddenly that would escalate to a player plot, please let us know as soon as possible.

    Hello :)

Thanks to our friendly cannibal picnic, Elidibus is going to get... ahem inspired to talk John Sheppard into donating his crab arm.

Of course not without reason. He's not a guy that just thinks an impulse is great to follow. But for really GOOD reasons. Good enough reasons to make it really seem like it's a good idea to the person involved as well.

And since he's a nice guy he will offer to work with his friend Emet-Selch to use creation magic to craft a prosthetic arm that would be used as a perfectly normal arm. He will probably even mention that it will be permanent or temporary depending on how cursey John wants to gamble with. Since this deals with their creation power and might be permanent therefore CURSED, I wanted to make sure to nab a sort of prelim permission to go forward with it possibly being permanent. You know, so we can move forward with the threat but also be still working out and presenting how cursed it actually is in the final.

Why, you might ask, does this qualify for player plot? Well a few reasons!

-It's definitely going to occasionally wander off and scare the crap out of anyone it happens to come across. Sure it looks mostly ordinary when attached to John but wandering about in the shadows or looming over someone and touching them? Even if you don't realize it's ONLY AN ARM that's some nightmare supernatural fueld right there. So definite risk of supernatural revelations.

    - It wants to know everything about everything! Definitely has the potential to impact more than four players/people/lives.

    - I have a whole slew of additional preliminary information fueled by 2am and the following inspirational image.

Plus whatever else we come up with before submitting its FINAL FORM for approval. I can add in a comment a more detailed bit but... uh I typed a lot and figured maybe make this shorter version first, then add on.

    Pt2: Plot/Proposal for Cursed Arm

    [personal profile] wewillwewill 2023-09-07 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
CW: dismemberment, disembodied hands, body horror?, impairment, horror-themed physical contact, loss of body function, reference to cannibalism

    Player Name(s): Maruah, Indy, Sceadu
Character(s) Involved: Primarily Elidibus, Emet-Selch and John Sheppard are starting it. Others are welcome to come in to finish it!
Dates: Small ramp-up/setup in Sept, Largest impact in Oct

Plot Type: PERSONAL, focused around Sheppard with Elidibus and Emet-Selch as unintended (???) enablers.

Plot Summary: Shortform: The fallout of what happens when Elidibus talks Shep out of his crab arm and gives a replacement bio-mechanical arm that is cursed. When Shep isn't looking, the arm goes on walkies. Metaphorically. But also literally.

For the further details of the arm and what sort of fallout will come of the incident, see the google doc (comments are enabled through the link!).

    A Farewell to (crab) Arm

Questions: Not sure if I have any serious questions. But I welcome them! Also as a silly one, I feel very proud of the title of this plot. Are you pleased with it?
