What are you afraid of?
What do you spend your life hurrying away from, never letting yourself sit down with the thought of it, never letting it pick and crawl and slither through your mind? Or perhaps you know it all too well; perhaps the darkest part of you lurks close to the surface, an all too familiar dread nipping at your heels.
Spiders.
Skittering legs and unseen strands.
They catch and bind and hold in the dark.
Or maybe it's something more abstract...
Being alone.
Wastelands devoid of human life, empty, endless, lonely.
The press of a city, uncaring of lives that begin and end within it.
An errant spark that will bring all you have loved to ash.
Each of these fears, these private terrors that grow in the mind, have power over us. They shape our choices, our lives, our societies, our worlds. Fear can force us to grow, bloom, improve ourselves to overcome it. Or it can consume us and everything we hold dear.
You can't kill fear. You can't destroy it... but that doesn't mean you can't fight it.
Apocalypse How is a cosmic horror, plot-heavy mystery game that centers on characters dealing with supernatural threats and trying to avert apocalypses that threaten to destroy the world they've fallen into. They are aided by an organization called the Apocalypse Disruption Initiative (ADI). It is a group created by and for victims of the Dread Powers that exist beyond the veil of this reality.
If they fail, the world will be consumed and everyone in it may spend the rest of their existence in a personalized hellscape, tormented by otherworldly forces that create, feed upon, and embody fear. If they succeed, there might be a chance of figuring out why outsiders, PC and NPC alike, have been brought to this world and how to return them to their own.
It's just a chance. Will you take it?
